McDaniel College

McDaniel Is Possible. Let Us Show You How.

Financial Aid

Choosing a college is about finding the right fit for your education, not getting the best deal on sale. You have to consider the practical aspects of funding it, but ideally that isn’t your first concern. Determining the best academic environment for you is your first priority, and financing it is really secondary. Once you have reached the point of deciding whether this is the right place for you to successfully complete your college education, McDaniel will work with your family to establish a financial fit. We understand that each family presents a unique financial situation and we will work with you individually to help you find the resources to fund a McDaniel education.

Tuition for 2009-2010 is $32,000. Room and board charges vary for students each year depending on the residence halls and meal plans you select, but the standard charge for a new student in a double room with a full meal plan for 2009-2010 is $6600. This is the starting point for all families.

McDaniel offers need-based financial aid and merit-based academic scholarships. Need-based aid depends on a family's financial resources. Merit-based aid is awarded for academic achievement and you will be automatically considered for scholarships after you are admitted to McDaniel. For most students, it is normal to apply for both and many receive a financial aid award that includes both types of assistance. It is only at the point that you have been admitted and applied for aid that you will have a specific financial aid offer in your hands that recognizes your achievement and your family financial situation. Then you’ll see just how possible McDaniel can be.

Over 90 percent of McDaniel students receive some type of assistance from the College. It is a normal part of the decision process, and the reality of private education. We invest over $23 million annually in grants and scholarships to insure that students from all kinds of financial backgrounds are able to experience a McDaniel education. If you are new to the process and don’t have a lot of experience with filling out financial aid forms, that’s perfectly normal and we’ll help you through it. But the place to start is finding the right college fit for you for four years, and then realizing how to make that goal possible.
